Book Donations
One of the great joys of being an author is the ability to share your stories with the world and especially those who would not otherwise have access to them. I love giving my books away and encourage anyone who has the opportunity to do so. Setting them free into the world, you’ll never know where they end up. But in my imagination, they soar with bats, they hide from pirates, they run through the jungle, and they are carried away by love.
Here are a few ideas I’ve come up with, but please contact any organization prior to sending to ensure they have space:
Little Free Libraries
Book exchange – “Take a book, return a book”. We are fortunate to have several in our area. You can even start one of you own!
Book Banks
We have a bank in my state, the MD Book Bank which distributes free books to families, teachers, and organizations.
Libraries
Many libraries would love to have free books (check with yours first). I’ve donated a copy of every book to each of our county libraries and some not in my county or even in my state.
Cabe Public Library – The mayor of Gurdon, AR delivering my books to the librarian…

STAIR Affair
Annual event for STAIR (Start The Adventure In Reading). This nonprofit works to improve the reading skills and self-esteem of lower elementary school students. They appreciate any book donation that you make, in any genre for any reading level (adults, YA or children). Signed books are the cornerstone of our silent auction.
Hospitals
Hospitals need books to fill their libraries for ill patients, especially children’s hospitals. Arnold Palmer Hospital.
